We are headed home tomorrow, September 5, 2017

We have been in Silver Spring, MD since yesterday afternoon. It is great to have some blue skies and warmer weather. The rain gauge at Mammoth Cave Campground had 5" of rain on Thursday night and 2" more on Friday.

We needed to dry out so we traveled to Charleston, WV on Saturday and camped in Kanawha State Forest. Sunday we drove to Silver Spring, MD. We appreciate the welcome and generosity of Jeannette and Alan. It was a bonus to see Jennifer here as well this wk-end.

We should be back in Newington late tomorrow.

Rain gauge set to measure "Harvey 's" amount.

We are in Mammoth Cave campground. No electricity an adventure. It is supposed to rain until Saturday afternoon.

Manmouth Cave Tour

These are mild looking but 360 feet underground meant walking back up. Would not want to be lost there alone.
Many areas are 100s of feet. Natural wonder.
This is our trip for today 8/31/17. We are in Kentucky and are going to get some rain from "Harvey" so the traveling could be slow. Next we hope to head to Louisville.

We had a nice campfire last night and are up for an early start this morning.

Love,
Lee Ann & Bob
